Chateau FontainebleauThe President of The Franco-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bob Lewis, and the General Manager of the Chamber, Catherine Le Yaouanc, were invited to Chateau de Fontainebleau on the 16th April as part of the 3rd edition of the ‘Festival de l’histoire de l’art’. The goal of the “Festival de l’histoire de l’art” is to promote appreciation amongst the French public for art history and the country’s artistic heritage.

A Recent Event : FBCCI Golf Competition

On Thursday the 18th April the Franco-British Chamber of Commerce organised an FBCCI Golf Tournament at Feucherolles Golf Club. This was the first golf event of the 2013 calendar and was kindly sponsored by Scottish Development.

The tournament was won by Jon Cooper of Spectrum IFA Group with a fantastic 18 points on the back nine, longest drive (200m into the wind) and 26 points on count back from Geoffrey Dys, director of AngloInfo. Read more ›

British Airways bears the colours of the UK in Moscow:

British Airways and the campaign VisitBritain supplied passers by with a pleasant surprise in one of Moscows biggest shopping centres, with a UK themed Flash Mob which was organised to encourage future travelers to make the most of the routes between Moscow and London.

Look out for the BA departure list this Summer:

Travellers for business or pleasure will be pleased to hear that BA have opened new routes to Chengdu, China and Ibiza as well as Rio de Janeiro, Amman, Palma in Mallorca, Glasgow, Lyon and Stockholm which now benefit from more frequent flights. Passengers for Almaty, Düsseldorf, Larnaca, Leeds Bradford, Toulouse and Zagreb will be pleased to learn that their flights will now operate from the magnificent Heathrow Terminal 5.

FBCCI EVENT : Author Launch

The Chamber was delighted to welcome Christian Saint-Etienne, economist and Paris councillor, to speak about his recent book, France: état d’urgence (“France: state of emergency”). The breakfast event was organised in association with Chamber member and law firm Lefèvre Pelletier et Associés, and it was held at their impressive offices on the Champs-Elysées in Paris.

Employees work under a contract of service whereas independent contractors work under a contract for services but it can be unclear which type of arrangement is in place. An Upcoming Event : France Galop : A Day at the Races

France Galop - horses racingFRANCE GALOP, the governing body of French horse racing, was created on 3rd May 1995 when three horseracing associations, the Société d’Encouragement et des Steeple-Chases de France, the Société de Sport de France and the Société Sportive d’Encouragement, were merged. Its role centres on promoting the improvement of the racehorse breed. By means of this role, France Galop helps to fund and coordinate a vibrant sector employing over 73,250 people (directly and indirectly), operating throughout the regions of France.
